Preschool Sunday School Idea
Bible Words: Always try to be kind to each other.
1 Thessalonians 5:15
Bibie Fun After you read the Bible story, tell it again. Pause after reading about each character who saw the hurt man and ask, "Does Jesus want us to be like that person?" Your child will imitate your actions as you shake your head and say no or nod and say yes. Let your child practice putting plastic bandages on a doll to show how the Samaritan helped the hurt man. Then help your child think of ways to be a good Samaritan at home.
Carlos' Missing Shoe
Lesson Focus: Jesus teaches us to be kind to everyone.
Carlos and Michael climbed out of bed. They were ready to go to the park with Mrs. Ferguson.
Michael looked for his shoes. They were white with a red stripe. He found two shoes and took them to Mrs. Ferguson.
Carlos looked for his shoes. They were white with a blue stripe. He found only one shoe.
Michael went to help Carlos.
Carlos looked under the bed. "I found a shoe," he said. "But it has a red stripe. Mine has a blue stripe."
Then Michael pointed to his feet. He had on two shoes. One had a red stripe. And one had a blue stripe.
Mrs. Ferguson laughed. "First Carlos found Michael's shoe. Then Michael looked at his feet and found Carlos's shoe. You are both kind."
Family Fun Relate household tasks to acts of kindness. When your child puts away toys or puts out a pet's food, talk about how he is being kind.
