Jesus and His followers were in a boat during a bad storm. Jesus was asleep, and
His followers were very scared. They thought Jesus didn't care if they drowned. So, they woke Him up.
Jesus told the storm to be quiet. Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm. And the followers were amazed at His power!
Are you ever afraid during a storm?
Preschool Sunday School Idea
Bible Words: Love the Lord your God with all your heart.
Matthew 22:37
Bible Fun Your child can pretend to be a teacher telling about God at Sunday school just as Moses told about God. You can help by providing a few props: a small table, a child's Bible, and some Sunday school lesson cards. The congregation might be a few dolls. You and your child can take turns being the teacher and leading everyone in telling a Bible story.
Time to Obey
Lesson Focus: We can obey God.
Mrs. Lee took the Sunday school class outside. Michael asked if the class could play "Simon Says."
"Okay, Michael. I'm ready to
play," said Mrs. Lee. "Simon says to
put your arms up in the air." All the
children put their arms up in the air.
Mrs. Lee said, "Simon says to run out to the big tree." All the children ran out to the big tree.
"Now," said Mrs. Lee, "let's sit
under the tree to hear our story." "Simon says." called Michael. "Simon says jump!" And he
jumped up and down on the grass.
Mrs. Lee said, "Michael, our game was fun, but now it is time to listen to God's Word from the Bible."
Michael sat down, ready to listen. "No more Simon Says," said Michael, "Now God says."
Family Fun Lead your child in a game of "Simon Says" each day this week. Conclude by doing one thing
together that God says to do, such as praying or reading a Bible story.
