Bible Fun Use some Sunday Pictures cards or a Bible storybook to play school with your child this week. Siblings may want to participate in this activity, or you might use dolls to represent classmates. Teach about ways that Jesus showed kindness to others and helped people when they were sad. Then let your child pretend to show kindness and get along well with classmates. Remind your child that Jesus taught Bible-time people how to love others, and we can read.
A Card for God
Lesson Focus: Jesus shows us how to talk to God.
Mrs. Ferguson was baby-sitting Michael, Brenda, Sherri, and Shawna. It was too cold too go outside so Mrs. Ferguson said, “Let’s make cards for our friends while lunch is cooking.”
Mrs. Ferguson folded paper to make cards. The children drew pictures and colored the cards.
Then Michael said, “I want to make a card for God.”
“Good ideas,” said Mrs. Ferguson. “ It can be a picture prayer. You draw a picture and tell me what words to print for you.”
So Michael drew a picture of food and said, “Dear God, I love You. Thank You for my food.”
And when the soup was ready, they all said Michael’s picture prayer at lunch.
