moon. He made seas and dry land. He made plants. He made fish, birds, and animals. Then He made man and woman.
God was happy with what He had made.
Bible Fun As you drive in the car this week, mention that Jesus took a long trip with His family when He was very young. Assure your child that God takes care of your family, just as God helped Mary and Joseph take care of Jesus on their trip.
Talk about ways you take care of your child in the car, such as providing a car seat. As you buckle your child in, tell why the seat belt is important. When you get into the car, pray with your child and thank God for being with you wherever you go
Brenda, the Pretend Baby
Lesson Focus: Jesus grew up.
The children were playing house with Mrs. Lee at Sunday School.
Brenda was the baby. Brenda said, “I want food!”
Carlos said, “Babies can’t talk.”
He brought Brenda the pretend food. Brenda started to eat it.
Carlos said, “Babies can’t feed themselves.”
Mrs. Lee said, “Carlos has a baby sister, so he knows about babies.”
Brenda thought about all the things babies can’t do and said, “I’m glad I’m growing. I’m four!”
Mrs. Lee smiled. She showed the children a figure of baby Jesus from the Nativity set. Then she pointed to a picture of Jesus as a grown-up man. She said, “ You are all becoming wiser and stronger – just like Jesus did.”
Family Fun You might want to record your child’s height each month and compare it to previous months. Also record the new memory verse and repeat it often. As a family, celebrate your child growing – just as Jesus did.
