King Xerxes into making a law to kill all the Jews. Esther was the queen, and King Xerxes loved her. But Esther was a Jew. She bravely told the king about Haman's trick. The king became angry and had Haman killed. Brave Esther had saved God's people.

Bible Fun As you drive in the car this week, mention that Jesus
took a long trip with His family when He was very young. Assure your child that God takes care of your family, just as God helped Mary and Joseph take care of Jesus on their trip.Talk about ways you take care of your child in the car, such as providing a car seat. As you buckle your child in, tell why the seat belt is important. When you get into the car, pray with your child and thank God for being with you wherever you go.
Brenda Asks Why?
Lesson Focus: God gives us people to help keep us safe.
It was snowing and Brenda was in a hurry to join her brother and sister outside. They were going to make a snowman!
As Mother helped Brenda to her hat and coat, Brenda asked “Mother, why do I have to wear this old hat and coat?”
Mother said, “Because it is snowing outside and I want you to be safe from the cold.”
“Mother, why do I have to wear boots?”
“because the sidewalk is slippery outside and I don’t want you to fall and hurt yourself?”
Suddenly Brenda gave Mother a big hug.
“What was that all about?” asked Mother.
“I just wanted to thank you for taking care of me and keeping me safe,” said Brenda.
Family Fun At mealtime, take turns letting each family member thank God for someone who helps keep them safe.
