The Good Fruit Tree

Luke 6

A good tree will not grow bad fruit," said Jesus one day. "And you can tell what sort of tree it is by looking at the fruit. Everyone knows you can't pick figs from a thorn bush. And you don't find grapes growing on a briar vine."

Jesus looked into the eyes of His listeners and continued, "You can know if someone is good, kind, and loving when you see them doing good, kind, and loving deeds. These deeds are like a special kind of fruit that grows from their hearts. In the same way you can know when you see someone who acts out of hatred or anger or jealousy that this person has the same kind of evils inside of them."
