Rise Up and Walk!

Acts 3

One day, Peter and John went to the temple to pray. But when they reached the gates, they saw a man who couldn't walk because his legs were paralyzed. Each day this man's friends would set him by the temple gates to beg for money.

"Please," begged the man. "Can you help the poor?" Peter and John both stopped.

"Look at us," said Peter. And the man looked up, holding his hand out for money.

Peter looked at the man and said, "I do not have any silver or gold. But I do have this." Then Peter bent down and took the man's hand and said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, I say to you, rise up and walk!"

The man leaped to his feet in joy! And he went with them to the temple, walking and jumping and praising God all the way. Everyone who had known this man stared in wonder.
