The guards beat Jesus with whips and sticks. They covered His eyes
with a blindfold and struck Him. "If You're a prophet" they
yelled, "tell us who is hitting You now!" Then they spat on Him.
After that, Jesus was questioned. "Tell us if You are the Christ,"
demanded the high priest.
"If I say so," said Jesus, "you will not believe Me. And if I ask,
you will not answer. But from now on, the Son of Man will sit at
the right hand of God."
