God made the earth's soil rich and good, and ready to grow. "Let
the land produce!" commanded God.
And the earth burst into a garden of life! Plants of all kinds
began to spring forth from the warm brown soil. Tender shoots
sprouted up from the ground to form fruit trees. Fragile green
vegetable seedlings emerged, and soon tightly closed flower buds
and blossoms appeared on slender stems.
Soon the fruit trees grew big and strong.
Their roots dug deep into
the soil, and their branches hung heavy with sweet-smelling fruit.
Tall, majestic evergreens stretched toward the sky, reaching their
limbs up to heaven.
Luscious green grasses grew, and fragrant flowers bloomed in every
color. And their precious seeds were caught by the winds and
scattered far and wide. God painted the earth in breathtaking and
colorful beauty. And it was so good!
